New Sunglasses

Now please excuse the myspace style pictures........!

The past two weekends I've been away at shows. It's been so much fun, thankfully the british weather has done a very nice job of actually being sunny and warm for the most part. And it has allowed me to indulge one of my loves a little. I love vintage, retro, pin up, rockabilly, what-ever-you-want-to-call-it, (but particularly mid 50s to early 60s) style sunglasses...they top off any out fit, I'm the same with earrings and I think part of it must stem from the fact, that with size 7 - 8 feet, vintage shoes are just never really going to happen for me! I've managed to get not one, but TWO beautiful new pairs.

The first is great becuase I find darker pairs can go with so much. And the great thing for you is, they're not vintage. The fantastic Bow & Crossbones now have a range of really good repro eye wear, and you can buy them here. I'm wearing Velma in this myspace-esque profile pic! I got these at the Shakedown the other week.

I've just got back from the Hotrod Hayride, and there I managed to pick up these beauties......now before I show you I need to say, I'd tried to buy a pair like these back in January (yes I know, hardly the time to buy and wear sunglasses!) but I feel in love with them. They were beautiful, and on eBay for Buy It Now £45, I offered £35 and was completely surprised that the seller accepted. But then they got lost in the post....now it was probably the world doing me a favour since I couldn't really afford them any way. The seller was great and refunded me straight away, I was however really disappointed.
Then I wandered over to the Dolly Cool and Clumsy stand at the Hayride to see Clare and Kate who run the two respectively. Only to find Clare had a pair just like the ones which got lost....for £25, and even better was happy to trade! Plus where as the ones I was looking at before were more on the yellow side....these match my hair! (I'm even getting over excited writing this!) What you sadly can't see in these photo's in that they are glittery.... I LOVE them! So before you go and check out both of these talented ladies (and you really should), here are The Glasses....what do you think?

Hair flower from Bow & Crossbones too.

Summer Fun!

It sure is busy here at Lady K Loves HQ......lots of hard work and a few changes in the pipe line.......whilst also making sure we're getting out to shows, so we can meet you lovely folk and have a dance or two with you.

We've just got back from Shakedown rock'n'roll, weekend which is a local one to us, and no sooner have we un packed and thought about washing and it's time to head off to the Hotrod Hayride! Which I'm very very excited about. We don't have a stand this year, but we are offering free delivery to Betty Flowers Powder Room for a try and buy.

If not, we'll see you on the dancefloor!

Americana Photoshoot

Among the ways' we found to keep ourselves busy at Americana was a photoshoot.....being surrounded by beautiful classic cars and rods, having a small army of models and a few good photographers at our disposal it seemed like far too good an opportunity to miss.

Of course it rained! This is the UK after all and we are having the worst summer I can remember in about 15 years (but I lived in Manchester during the last one like this and it always rains there, anyway I digress)

Armed with an extremely fun modelling duo Stephanie Jay and Cherrie Mae, and Robert Rawson, our photographer for the day, we took to the fields! I'd walked around in the morning and spoken to a couple of lovely chaps who had great cars and very little problem with 2 beautiful ladies posing next to them (who'd have thought it!), earlier in the morning. It was all relatively informal and a great way to meet new people if I'm honest!

The main aim was to get some picture of the new swimwear....and we certainly did that!

The car is thanks to Keith at Khameleon Custom, who was extremely friendly and helpful and a real pleasure to meet, I walked up to earlier in the day and there was a row of 3 Caddy's....just dreamy. The girls sure did draw a crowd around the bumper car's, the owner clearly keen on this, so offered them a free ride for some pictures.....what do you think? Swimwear at the fair in future? The girls are in our Sindy swimsuit and Double Cutie bikini

We then dashed off to the second selection of cars....this time 3 trucks in a row, personally I would LOVE a truck....that is my aim, when I can finally buy a car, I want a big truck, but then when I was little I wanted a tank so it's hardly surprising! This time rather than being offered a go on the bumper cars, Step and Cherrie were offered a lovely dog to borrow! They're both wearing out V 2.0's and Bernie Jumpers

Americana Fashion Show 2012

Just over a week ago it was Americana up in Newark, I've heard loads about the show but not had the chance to go until now.
Last year, Laura from Miss Fortune organised the fashion show, which was the first time they'd done such a thing there. It was such a success it was on again this year. So Lady K Loves was in the show, and we had a little stand at the side. It was a massively busy weekend, with the fashion show, a photoshoot, helping out with the Bow & Crossbones stand, and bumper-car frenzy! It was great fun, fantastic to meet Lady K Loves fans and talk to so many new people. I'm going to split this over a couple of blogs as there's just too much to fit in. Below are some fantastic photo's courtesy of Miss Rain Photography, featuring, Stephanie Jay - Cigarette skirt and Rodeo Queen, Cherrie Mae - Bernie Jumper and V 2.0 , Little Gem - She's Not So Dumb, Frankii Wilde - Rodeo Queen and V 2.0Havana Hurricane - Shirley's dress and Emma Marshall - Circle Skirt and Betty tee
